We will remember!

There will be no Guides on November 10.

This week we made our own felt poppies. 

We wrote postcards to Veterans and leaned about how animals were used during wartime. 

A Far out night!

 Our party tonight was a space and the galaxy. 

We were very busy with many activities and we started by trying to land on the moon!

We had many other activities

In the kitchen we made mini naan pizza with Star mozzarella cutouts. We then made a Galactic drink with colour changing liquids and edible glitter!

We made fabulous cookies with swirling Royal icing and gold sprinkles

Then we made wagon wheel planets with edible glitter painted on and planetary sprinkles stuck on with chocolate icing. 

Our last craft was making lantern planets (stickers to dress them up) and glow bracelets to light them up. 

Mid Autumn Festival Night

Tonight we finished our wooden Girl Guides, learned about the cycles of the moon.

We learned to make snowy skin mooncakes and filled them with a chocolate/peanut butter and coconut filling. 

We also learned about the promise and laws. The answer to the puzzle is at bottom of the puctures.

The answer was- “YOU SOLVED THE SECRET CODE! GIRL GUIDES ARE COOL!!

Cookie themed night

This week we did some long term planning for things we would like to do this year.

The patrols were uncovered and we will be Shamrocks, Canary, and Thistles. 

We practiced selling cookies and making change as well as made mini Minty Cookie cases! 

Minty Cookies are coming!

Please make sure that you have let Jacquie know how many cases of Minty Cookies you would like to sell.
Each Guide is expected to sell 2 cases but each case sold helps us make all our activities possible.  Each case has 12 boxes and they sell for $6.

PICK UP
When -Monday, September 29 from 6pm to 8pm.
         Let us know if you need to pick up at a different time (the cookies arrive on Sept. 27
         in the late afternoon.
Where – 5101 Commercial Street (at 35^th Ave.) It a brown house and has a gate towards the alley
            side of the street.  
            Come through the side gate and ring the bell.

Get to Know You Night

This week we did activities to get to know each other.
First we did a colouing sheet that included the promise and a we coloured in the Girl Guide.

Next we went outside and in pairs we made chalk outlines outside and learned things about each other.
I think we need to make sushi!
We continued to work on our wooden Girl Guide this time we added a scarf and skin tone and then we sat down for a camp fire where we got to learn a bunch of new songs.

We hope you all had a great summer. We are excited about the new Guiding year ahead.

Our First Meeting

will be on Monday, September 8^th.

We need a parent or a guardian to attend with each Guide at this very short meeting.

If you are new to our unit, please make sure you have filled in the Epact online forms.
You should have got an email from the National organization.
You will want to update information on the digital forms.
